Largemouth Bass

The world’s most famous bass fishing lake…and for good reason.  Located just 70 miles from Dallas Texas, Lake Fork outproduces all other Texas lakes.  Other lakes come and go,  yet for 30 years Lake Fork has consistently produced more fish over thirteen pounds than all of them…combined!  Here are the stats:  Thirty-two of the top 50 largest bass ever caught anywhere in the state of Texas came from Lake Fork.  Eighteen of the top 25, seven out of the top 10, including the top 6, came from Lake Fork.  Do you really want to fish for largemouth bass anywhere else?

Striped/Hybrid Bass

How blessed we are to live in East Texas with its diverse landscape and abundant reservoirs.  While Lake Fork and Lake Tawakoni are located less than 15 miles apart, the fisheries are as different as
West Texas is to East Texas.  Lake Tawakoni offers some of the best striped and hybrid bass fishing in the south.   It is not unusual to get into a school and put 20 or 30 fish in the boat in less than an hour.  These big fish are known for their long powerful runs, and after a day on the water, you’ll know you’ve been in a battle.

Catfish and other species

Both of these great reservoirs offer outstanding catfishing.  Whether you are looking to fill the freezer with a mess of 2 to 5 pound channel cats or hook up with one of our monster  50 – 80 pound blue cats, you can’t go wrong on either of these lakes for year ‘round action.
Speaking of filling the freezer,  who wouldn’t want to put up a few bags of crappie fillets?  These tasty panfish are abundant all year and relatively easy to catch.  We can arrange a pro guide for your trip or point you to one or more spots where the fish hangout.  If you’re lucky maybe Mr. Crappie, Wally Marshall, will swing by and give you some pointers.  He’s been known to frequent Lake Fork Lodge from time to time.
